KJSIM Admission 2026-27 — Eligibility, Cutoffs, Selection Process & Important Dates

K J Somaiya Institute of Management (KJSIM) runs four 2-year MBA programmes — MBA (flagship, 5 Majors + 7 Minors), MBA-Healthcare Management (with K J Somaiya Hospital), MBA-Sports Management, and MBA-Marketing Communications (in partnership with Jio Creative Labs). All under AACSB-accredited Somaiya Vidyavihar University. Admission is via CAT 2025 / XAT 2026 / GMAT / NMAT 2025 (first two attempts) / CMAT 2026 — and MBA-SM additionally accepts MAT / ATMA / PERA-CET / CUET. Selection process: online WAT + offline PSA + Personal Interview for MBA & MBA-HCM; PSA-PI (online or offline) for MBA-SM; online PI + Video Resume for MBA-MC. Application deadline 20 January 2026. Each programme has different selection weights.

Approximate competitive cutoffs (not officially published): KJSIM does not publish official cutoffs. Based on prior cycles and applicant feedback, competitive shortlist profiles typically have CAT ≈ 80-90 %ile (flagship MBA), 75-85 %ile (HCM/SM/MC), NMAT ≈ 200+, XAT ≈ 85-92 %ile. Selection is composite-weighted — score alone does not guarantee or rule out a call.

Detailed selection process — what to expect at each stage

1 — Application Form (applykjsim.somaiya.edu)

Apply online before deadline. ₹3,000 fee for MBA / MBA-HCM · ₹1,000 fee for MBA-SM / MBA-MC. Students can apply to multiple programmes on the same form.

2 — Shortlisting

MBA: shortlisted purely on qualifying exam (CAT/XAT/GMAT/NMAT/CMAT) scores. MBA-HCM: PROFILE-BASED shortlisting. MBA-SM: profile + scores + past academics + SOP. MBA-MC: Video Resume + scores + past academics. Shortlisted candidates fill out Candidate Profile Form.

3 — WAT (Written Ability Test) - Online

Online WAT conducted for MBA and MBA-HCM candidates. NOT applicable for MBA-SM and MBA-MC.

4 — PSA-PI Process

Problem Situation Analysis (PSA) + Personal In-Depth Interview (PI). MBA/MBA-HCM: offline in multiple cities. MBA-SM: online or offline (intimated later). MBA-MC: ONLY online PI (no PSA) via Zoom.

5 — Final Admission

Offers issued based on programme selection parameters (weighted), candidate preferences, and seat availability. NMAT/GMAT applicants must select KJSIM in their respective score-sending portals.
