Amrita School of Business Coimbatore admits to its 2-year MBA through a merit-based holistic process. Candidates need a minimum 70 percentile in one of eight accepted entrance exams — ACAT (Amrita's own test), CAT, MAT, XAT, CMAT, GRE, GMAT or NMAT (NMAT is exclusive to ASB Coimbatore). Eligibility requires a bachelor's degree in the 10+2+3 pattern recognised by AIU, with minimum 60 percent aggregate in 10th, 12th AND UG. Final-year students may apply with last completed semester results. Work experience is advantageous but not mandatory. Selection is based on shortlisting on entrance exam performance followed by a personal interview. The application fee is ₹1,880. Up to 100 percent merit-based tuition fee waivers are available for outstanding profiles.

Amrita runs its own ACAT — candidates without CAT/XAT/CMAT scores can still apply via ACAT. ACAT 2026 dates: February 7-8, 2026. Registration deadline January 26, 2026.
NMAT is exclusive at ASB Coimbatore
NMAT is accepted ONLY at ASB Coimbatore (not Bangalore / Amritapuri). NMAT candidates with 70+ percentile have a specific edge at this campus.
Academic floor is enforced
Minimum 60 percent in EACH of 10th, 12th AND UG. A strong CAT but 55 percent in 12th will fail eligibility.
Up to 100 percent scholarship is real
Merit-based tuition fee waiver up to 100 percent for outstanding academic profiles. Second-year renewal is conditional on first-year performance — keep the grades.
PI focuses on communication + subject knowledge
Personal interview assesses communication and subject knowledge. Prepare for both general management questions and subject-area depth based on your UG specialisation.
Common Application Mistakes
Missing the 60 percent academic floor
Eligibility requires 60 percent in each of 10th, 12th AND UG. Many candidates assume aggregate — it is not.
Banking on 65 percentile in any exam
Minimum is 70 percentile in the chosen exam. 65-69 percentile candidates fail the entrance exam floor.
Forgetting NMAT exclusivity
NMAT is accepted only at ASB Coimbatore (not Bangalore or Amritapuri). NMAT candidates should target Coimbatore specifically.
Ignoring the application fee
₹1,880 application fee is non-refundable. Submit only after confirming all details.
Late initial payment
₹50,000 initial payment must be made within the stipulated date in the Provisional Admission Offer letter. Missing this loses the seat.
