How MICA's Composite Formula Works

MICA distributes its shortlist score across three inputs. XAT (or CAT, which MICA also accepts) contributes 30% of the composite.

For essays, practice writing 200-word responses with a clear argument in under 12 minutes. A borderline XAT score combined with a top-quartile MICAT score has historically been enough for a call.

Beyond the Numbers

MICA's PGDM-C (Post Graduate Diploma in Management - Communications) places graduates primarily in brand management, media, and advertising. Recruiters like HUL, Ogilvy, Publicis, Wunderman Thompson, and Star/Disney Hotstar are regulars on campus.

Median placement figures hover around ₹14-16 LPA, with top offers crossing ₹25 LPA in strong cycles. If your profile is communications-heavy, a slightly lower XAT score matters less here than it would at an IIM, because MICA's process is genuinely designed to find a different kind of applicant.
