JAP 2026 is a two-step joint admission process coordinated by IIM Raipur for four new IIMs - Kashipur, Raipur, Ranchi, and Trichy. Step 1 involves mandatory online registration after CAT 2025 results, done only by invitation email from the JAP admission office. Step 2 is shortlisting for Personal Interview based on CAT 2025 scores, with separate category cutoffs for GEN, EWS, NC-OBC, SC, ST, and PwD candidates.
Only students who selected these IIMs in the CAT form and meet minimum academic + CAT eligibility will receive the registration invite. Step 1 registration is NOT a PI call - it is a pre-interview filter. Miss the registration window and you lose candidature.
Final admission offers come from individual IIMs after PI, following Government of India reservation policy. These four IIMs are the "new IIM" tier with fees in the Rs 14-16L range - IIM Ranchi at Rs 14L fees and Rs 17 LPA average, IIM Kashipur around similar. CAT cutoff required is typically 90-95 percentile for general category.
