Framing the Drop Credibly

Admissions panels at the IIMs are not naive. Vague answers like "I was preparing for competitive exams" land poorly.

Concrete framing works: a verifiable startup attempt, a family medical situation with documented evidence, or a structured skilling program (CFA Level 1, a coding bootcamp with a certificate, freelance work with invoices) are narratives that survive cross-examination. Three years is long enough that you need a story with a beginning, middle, and outcome, not just a reason.

Placement Reality at the End

If you clear the interview at IIMA, your academics and a strong work profile post-MBA can get you in front of McKinsey, BCG, or Goldman Sachs on Day 0.
