JAP IIMs require 10th class at 60% (55% for reserved), 12th class at 60% (55% for reserved), and UG at 50% (45% for reserved) as bare minimums. Final-year UG candidates can apply provisionally if they submit certificate by June 30, 2026 confirming degree completion. Non-percentage UG programs (GPA-based) are converted using the institute's method.
Specific document requirements: marksheets for 10th and 12th, UG provisional certificate (for current students), final UG certificate (for graduates), category certificates (EWS, OBC-NCL, SC, ST, PWD). For 2026 application, CAT score, academic marksheets, and category documents must be uploaded during EOI. IIM Ranchi at Rs 14L fees, IIM Raipur at Rs 15L fees, IIM Kashipur at Rs 17L fees require these documents verified at interview stage.
Candidates with below-minimum academics are filtered at the shortlisting stage, regardless of CAT score. For candidates with 12th at 58% (below 60%), apply to IIMs individually (IIM L, I, K) or non-IIM programs that don't strictly enforce 60% 12th. Provisional applicants should have their HOD certify degree completion by June 30 deadline; miss this and you lose admission even after conversion.
For gap year candidates, UG marksheet is from the year of graduation, not current year. International students from foreign boards get equivalence via AIU (Association of Indian Universities). Don't assume 10th/12th below 60% is a death sentence; some non-IIM colleges accept 55% or even 50%.
