IIM Indore is absolutely worth joining as a non-engineer fresher because it caters to all domains (consulting, finance, marketing, HR, operations, analytics, IT, S&M) with good fresher placements, especially for non-engineer diversity. IIM Indore charges Rs 16.5L fees and places at Rs 25 LPA average, giving one of the strongest ROI profiles among IIMs.
The OP of this thread was a DU non-engineer 9/8/7 academics fresher who interned in IT during SIP despite not being engineer, proving domain flexibility at Indore. For freshers, marketing and general management are the most welcoming domains because companies allocate GD shortlists generously. Consulting at IIM I is reasonable if you have 9/8/7 or better academics plus some spikes (case comp wins, internships, POR).
Don't expect MBB consulting direct shortlists as a fresher without CA, CFA, or elite workex, but non-MBB consulting firms hire generously. For a non-engineer fresher targeting top 10 consulting roles, IIM Indore at Rs 16.5L fees makes more financial sense than SPJIMR at Rs 26.
5L fees. Marketing SIPs at IIM I include Aditya Birla and other FMCG brands, with decent stipends. Batch size of 600+ at Indore means you compete with many peers, but diverse class composition means non-engineers get fair chances.
If you're debating IIM I vs IIM Kozhikode, Indore offers better placements starting Day 1, while K has pleasant weather and tighter batch culture. Check your eligibility at collvera.
