At the end of IIM Mumbai PI, when panelists ask "Any questions for us," ask 1-2 thoughtful questions that demonstrate genuine interest in the institute without seeming transactional or poorly researched. Good questions: "What specific changes have you seen in IIM Mumbai's curriculum since rebranding from NITIE to focus on operations?" or "What kind of live projects does IIM M partner with industry on, and how can MBA students contribute?
" or "What do IIM Mumbai alumni in operations consulting at Amazon or Flipkart typically take away from the 2-year program?" Bad questions: "What is the placement percentage?" (public data), "What are IIM M fees?
" (already known), "How many hostels are there?" (irrelevant). IIM Mumbai at Rs 23L fees and Rs 22 LPA average values candidates who treat the interview as a two-way conversation.
Listen to their answer attentively; don't interrupt. Thank them concisely without over-effusing. For the OP of this thread, he mentioned asking one question that both panelists answered; this is normal.
End the interview with a confident handshake-equivalent verbal close: "Thank you for your time, panel. Have a great day." Check your eligibility at collvera.
