Freshers who crack IIM interviews do one thing differently: they replace vague ambition with a specific problem-solution-evidence chain. IIM A, B, and C admit 30-40% freshers in their cohorts, so the panels are not hostile to your profile, but they will expose any answer that collapses under a single follow-up.
The Core Framework
Your "Why MBA" must answer three questions in sequence: What specific problem do you want to solve? How has your academic life already moved you toward it? Why does an MBA accelerate that path faster than direct work entry?
Notice what is missing: "career growth," "holistic exposure," "leadership skills." These phrases are panel repellent. A fresher saying "I want to build fintech products for rural credit access, my BSc CS project modeled credit scoring for unbanked households, and IIM C's Finance + Strategy curriculum plus Razorpay or Paytm PM placements give me the fastest entry into that role" is structurally bulletproof.
