A CFA Level 1 or 2 pass is one of the few credentials ISB explicitly respects because it demonstrates you can handle rigorous quantitative coursework independently. Similarly, completing a data science certification from a credible provider (not a weekend bootcamp) shows intellectual seriousness.

These additions work best when they connect logically to your career story, not when they appear as last-minute profile padding.

Essays and LORs as the Narrative Glue

A weak academic record needs a direct, honest explanation in your essays, not avoidance. If family circumstances, health, or early career priorities affected your performance, say so plainly.

Admissions readers are experienced; they have seen every story. What they penalise is evasion.
