Gender diversity bonus varies significantly across IIMs, ranging from 0 at IIM A to 5 points at IIM B/L, and up to 10 at IIM Kozhikode. The AMA commenter corrected that "IIM Ahmedabad has 2 points for Gender Diversity" (updated from old 0). At IIM Kozhikode (Rs 24L fees, Rs 28 LPA avg, 96%+ CAT cutoff), the 10-point gender bonus is the highest and translates to roughly 3-5 percentile effective advantage for female candidates.
At IIM Indore, the gender bonus is 6 points. At FMS Delhi (Rs 2.43L fees, Rs 34 LPA avg), female candidates get 5 bonus marks in final selection.
At IIM B/L, 5 points out of 100 is meaningful. The practical effect: a female candidate at 98 percentile can compete with a male at 99+ percentile for the same IIM call. For female candidates: IIM K is your easiest top-10 target due to the 10-point bonus; IIM A is hardest due to only 2 points.
Non-ABC IIMs are significantly more female-friendly than ABC. Combined with non-engineer diversity (typical +3-4 effective percentile), female non-engineers have a strong competitive advantage at most IIMs. For specific gender-targeted roles post-MBA, IIM A has the strongest pipeline for women in consulting and finance despite the 2-point bonus because of batch composition and alumni network.
At FMS, the 5-point bonus plus 1/10th the fees make it an exceptional value for female candidates. Check each IIM's latest selection document - bonuses change year-to-year. Check your eligibility at collvera.
