EWS provides roughly 5-8 percentile relaxation at JAP IIMs, which is enough to secure conversion for candidates scoring 82-88 overall with clear sectionals. JAP 2026 EWS cutoff is 80 overall with 60 sectional for all three, significantly lower than General's 90/75/

- EWS candidates at 85-88 percentile with 9/9/8 academics and some workex should convert 3-5 JAP IIMs. IIM Ranchi at Rs 14L fees and Rs 17 LPA avg, IIM Raipur at Rs 15L fees and Rs 15 LPA avg, IIM Visakhapatnam at Rs 17L fees and Rs 15 LPA avg are realistic EWS targets. The EWS certificate must be obtained from the Tehsildar or Revenue officer with income under Rs 8 LPA; processing takes 60+ days so apply early. EWS candidates should also target IIM Calcutta (with 99+ CAT), IIM Lucknow (with 98+), FMS Delhi (with 97+), XLRI BM (with 92+ XAT). For EWS candidates in the 82-86 percentile band, the JAP IIMs are the primary target; Top IIMs become realistic only above 93+. The EWS cutoff at top IIMs (ABC) is around 92-94+, requiring strong CAT + academic record. For academic category cutoffs: EWS 10th at 55% vs General at 60%, EWS 12th at 55% vs 60%, EWS UG at 45% vs 50%. Don't mistake EWS cutoff relaxation for unconditional conversion; internal composite scores still apply. Apply widely to maximize chances. Check your eligibility at collvera.com/eligibility
